GAIN A NATIONALLY RECOGNISED, INDUSTRY-STANDARD QUALIFICATION with FIT to TRAIN.
After the success of our 2011 Exercise to Music qualification course this Spring, Fit to Train will be running another ETM course in the Cleethorpes area from November 2011... contact us now to register your interest as courses in the Lincolnshire area are few and far between and spaces fill up very quickly.
Fully endorsed by awarding body Active IQ, myself and my colleague Joss Ryder will be leading the certificate. You will complete the Anatomy and Physiology component of the course online with Active IQ in your own time, and attend five weekend workshops with us to learn the practical skills which will ensure you become a successful, in-demand Group Exercise instructor.
This course has long been a staple of the fitness industry and leads to a nationally-recognised and industry standard qualification, and is an ideal point from which to lead onto other courses and disciplines. It will equip you with the knowledge and skills to lead Exercise to Music classes in leisure centres, clubs, or on a freelance basis.
We will also be releasing details of our AQUA Exercise to Music courses very soon, and for those already qualified Level 2 instructors, remember when you did your Anatomy and Physiology years ago? Could it do with a brushing up? Why not take our online Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise and Health certificate? It's great for brushing up on your A&P, will take you deeper into all subject areas than your Level 2 qualification and will count as a unit towards other courses such as Personal Training, Level 3 Pilates and Exercise Referral.

Local fitness instructor Fiona Worley successfully completed her training with us last year - this is what she had to say about qualifying with Fit to Train:
"Starting the ETM course was a leap into the unknown for me, I'd done a grapevine or two whilst I was pregnant at a midwife led class some years ago, but aside from some BTS classes (Pump, Step and Combat) I'd never done aerobics, or indeed taught anything before. I had no idea about the sort of music to use, choreography, cueing, bones, muscles or the inner workings of the human body!
The ETM covered all of this in a way that was fun, easy to grasp and at a pace that was steady enough for it to sink in. I'm not saying it was easy, at times it was a real challenge, standing in front of the other course participants to teach was embarassing and tricky, learning to tell them what you wanted them to do, when, how and which direction to do it in, all the while listening to the beats and trying to concentrate on what you wanted to do next. But once we had got to know each other better and become more confident we were able to relax and have fun with it.
Joss and Lee, the course tutors, were always patient, encouraging and had real belief in all of us and our abilities, they were available between weekends, at the end of the phone, by email or in person if we felt we needed extra help and would never make us feel we were bothering them.
I really enjoyed my time on the course and after passing both the theory and practical exam, left feeling confident in my abilities to teach aerobics safely in a fun and effective way.
I now teach Aqua aerobics, gone on to qualify in Zumba, am about to attend a course that will allow me to teach Body Combat and have the confidence and desire to increase my knowledge and skills in different areas of exercise.
